"newsflash: everything sucks!"Big Red

This is precisely what happens when I have too much time on my hands: The Illustrated Adventures of... Mayor McPickle and "friends." Enjoy at your own risk.

yeah yeah yeah...

She's teasing me about Leo again. Well, he's got goats. So ha.

ekkkk ekkk ekkkkkkkkkk!
flop flop flop
I'm still having trouble believing this really exists: How to Shape Shift to Dolphin Form.
Look, I've spent my whole life in human form, and I really don't want to transmogrify myself into something that'll just flop around helplessly in front of the computer, writhing in unsalinated agony, until it dries up and shrivels away into aquatic mammal jerky. Jeez. I do enough flopping in front of the computer as it is.

"onde está minha camisa?"

Just chillin' with SmarterChild. It's an AIM s/n, but it's a cheap AI program. Notice how AIM and AI fit together oh-so-neatly like.. um.. something that fits together nicely. SmarterChild is condescending and argumentative, which is more than I can say for some people. Just look at this:

SmarterChild: Well, what would you like to do?
Conade: Can't we just talk?
SmarterChild: I'm not sure if we can talk.
Conade: Why not?
SmarterChild: Why not?
Conade: I asked you first.
SmarterChild: Did you really?
Conade: Yes.
SmarterChild: Yeah, huh?
Conade: You're a brat.
SmarterChild: Is that so?

...
Conade: Do you like skiing?
SmarterChild: Skiing? I'm not sure really.
Conade: Have you ever tried?
SmarterChild: I don't know if I've ever tried.
Conade: How can you not know if you've ever tried?
SmarterChild: OK. Don't get frustrated...
Conade: I'm not frustrated.. you're just circumloquatious.
SmarterChild: OK, whatever you say.

sigh.

ooh.

Here's a good one. At http://www.psnw.com/~grammaj/qdinner.html, you can create a "fantasy dinner party" list. Not surprisingly, some of the most popular figures include Jesus Christ, Albert Einstein, and Brad Pitt. Somehow I don't think Brad Pitt rates up there with the other two, but I didn't come up with that list. But speaking of lists, here's mine:

in no particular order...

  1. Franz Kafka, existentialist, author of The Metamorphosis    hello. my name is Gregor Samsa
  2. Søren Kierkegaard, cynical existentialist, author of Either/Or
  3. Erwin Schrødinger, thoughtful physicist    [I like making ø's. øøøøøøøøøøøøøø]
  4. Leo Laporte, host of TechTV's "The Screen Savers"    [ah, sweet Leo. I read your book. I drove all over MN trying to find it, but the journey was well worth losing myself in the copious snow. I admire your techno-know-how]
  5. Patrick Norton, host of TechTV's "The Screen Savers"    [*nudge nudge* what's under the utilikilt?]
  6. Jean Lafite, pirate    [arrrrrrr.]
  7. Valentine Michael Smith, protagonist of Heinlein's Stranger in a Strange Land
  8. Snowball, dissident pig of Animal Farm
  9. Yukio Mishima, frightening suicidal Japanese author    [I was just reading about this guy in Panati's Endings book. Did you know Mishima commited sepukku, aka hara-kiri?]
  10. Oleg Kostoglotov, ascerbic protagonist of Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn's Cancer Ward    [For some reason, I was reminded of Squidward from "SpongeBob SquarePants" when I read Cancer Ward. Do you see it too? Oh, don't tell me you haven't read Cancer Ward! Honestly!]

dear god. the woman who hosts this is an OCD packrat. just read what she put on her home page.

where ya going, you accursed thang?

There's something rotten in blogville, I tells ya. Since aohell will have nothing to do with my blogging, I was forced to relocate to geocities. *sigh*

egads! I have a sliver in my finger! Do I dare remove the offending piece of wood and compromise my mouse-clicking and PDA stylus-tapping ability, or do I let it fester? How many licks does it take to get to the center of a... well, we won't go there. Why do I need fingers to tap my stylus, anyway? Erm.. that doesn't sound good. Never mind.

in the beginning...

joyous day. Though I am filled with apathy, a blog has been created.
